The could have put five past us. Once again our defence looked ropey, but just as with last season, it just isn't getting the support it needs from mid-field. quite right, could that be the four letter word sitting in front of - and supposedly protecting - the back four? Didn't we have exactly the same problem exactly one year ago? And the two J's brought in Hand. It didn't make any difference. What I'm trying to say is this is a long term problem area for us.

Unless a LB and decent CB are signed permanent or on loan I think it will be long term. Cover at CB is Beevers or Hone. Neither at this moment IMO are good enough, and cover at LB is ???????????

Cover at lb is probably Beevers, the utility man, but he can't cover at lb if he's covering at cb as well. I would like to see a new lb brought in, with LJL and/or Dany moving up front and Aaron Brown playing left wing.

I agree. I was hoping Giddings would come through, and we'd have the left sorted (in the absence of injuries/suspensions, at least), but as it is it looks as ropey as ever, with a make-shift LB and N'Guessen who has about as many defensive properties as a chocolate fire-guard.

Jamie Hand debut tonight for Ebbs Fleet, came on for last 10 minutes or so
