Freck looks like a confidence player to me He is still young He has been brought up at the club with KA and JS at the helm who were club men and now a different type of manager has come in. PJ has done a lot of good things at the club but so far he has not got the best out of our most talented young player. I think PJ needs to encourage, cajole and nuture Freck back to his best form. He needs to tell Freck how good he is and how he should be bossing the midfield. If not then I wouldn't be suprised to see Freck go. Freck is not that 'young' anymore, I reckon he is good enough for our team at leats but he needs to start playing again, when has he played well for say 5 games in a row? Hes better knuckling down and grinding out stronger performances no matter who is manager.

Well he is still young to me Different players need different approaches to get the best out of them. Freck at his best is probably the best player at the club and its up to the manager to get that out of him

Understandably Hone isn't going to be happy, who would be happy not to make the 16 every week - at the end of the day that is there job. However, he isn't good enough to play week in week out yet, and would be better going off on loan somewhere and competing reguarly. It maybe worth opting for three across the middle of the park, and three up-front because LJL & DNG haven't really been at the races so far this season down the wings.

It does appear the cliques are re-emerging - we do need a strong captain and Kerr once again is shown to fall short so far.

Freck really didn't seem at the races yesterday, and DNG was as selfish as ever. There were a good couple of moments when if he'd have just sent it on the floor a few yards we would have been well in, but instead he took a couple of touches too many and screwed it up. I think Kerr's temperament needs to be kept in check. There's wearing your heart on your sleeve and being a passionate captain, and then there's just letting things get to you and starting to lose it a bit. He reminded me of John Terry a little bit, getting involved every single time with the referee. I've not seen Oakes in the red and white as yet, but from what people are saying, I'd like to see him and Freck in the middle. The only question then is who to hand the armband to.

We do look a lot better with Oakes on the field, but we can't be a team that relies heavily on one player. I did think that Gall did well, full of running.

sammyimp- 08-18-2008

I thought Kerr played well in the 1st half.. As with the rest of the 11 he was carp in the 2nd half....

Impsforever- 08-18-2008

I did think that Gall did well, full of running. So is Linford Christie, but I wouldn't put him in a lincoln shirt. What did Gall actually achieve? Jamie forrester does more with the ball in 5 minutes that he did all game.

Didn't we use to have another speedy forward a few years ago who would run his socks off all day but hardly ever score or set up a goal? Step forward Mr Francis Green! I hope that Gall is better than that.

thecaptain- 08-18-2008

Franny would get you, what, say 10 goals a season? Gall is unlikey to find the net once between now and January. But he works hard and runs all day.

Impsforever- 08-18-2008

On two views, I'm not sure he is. In fact, I'd put money on Franny Green scoring more goals than Gall this season. But he does run around a lot, which is, apparently, highly laudable.

He could have saved himself a lot of time with a phone call to Keith!
