I thought they were skint?? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/r/rotherham_utd/7554188.stm
Odd that?

When we had the chastening experience of coming out of admin we signed the likes of Dean Cropper, Adie Mike and Simon Yeo from non-league football.
Rotherham, Bournemouth and Luton will be aiming higher and spending more because they have managed to get the league's blessing for cheating every other club in this division and their creditors. It is a scandal but all the national media can say is that its unfair on the fans to have minus points and these clubs have "new regimes" in place

The comments from their chairman at the end of last week and this la-*test*-('") piece of news simply mean they've mugged the League. Like The Who said 'Meet the new boss, same as the old boss'.

They'll offer him £1500 a week, but pay him £75. ;)

In some ways I am pleased that I didn't go to DVS on Saturday - bad result, problems getting in and financing their cheating ways by paying £20 to get in!
Derby will be different tonight. I expect there to be in excess of 1,500 Imps fans there, including Joe and I.

Yeah, a real con with the full blessing of the FL. It will also send the message to these types of clubs that you can continue vastly over-spending, and just invent a convnient "new co." when things go pear-shaped.
What I would like to see happen (although it probably won't) is some of these club's creditors chase them through court to settle their debts fully. All it would take would be one ruling saing that "new co." must pay, and the whole sham would collapse.

Very good post, Impy. You know, I reckon fans all over the country are beginning to become frustrated with the FL (and their apparent inability to stop the rot) and with clubs who persistently offend. Sure enough, some company or other will go and fight clubs in the court for full payment sooner rather than later.

I think that's true Posh, but I think there are a lot more who just see the points deduction and think it's unfair/not the supporters fault/the fault of a previous regime.
As said before I'm sick of that - where are the Rotherham fans standing up and saying, 'Hang on, isn't this new guy hinting that he's going to take us down the same route as the last lot?'.
Impsforever- 08-12-2008
Nowhere to be seen, because they don't care. They've just conned their way out the la-*test*-('") mess, and fully expect to con their way out of the next one. I've actually seen a post by a Rotherham Trust Board member that directly states that he sees sustainability as being synonymous with being bank-rolled by the Chairman. You can't do much with an attitude like that...
I did consider sending my thoughts on this to David Conn. He might possibly write a decent article about it.

Hasn't a certain "experienced" forward just turned down Gainsboro' tho as a league club is interested in him? May not be as bad as we think....

I can't wait to see who that might be!

Benjamin is the type of striker we should be looking for.

Type maybe but not him perhaps? We are lacking a rollocking bull dozer type up front, especially to use when chasing a game but I'd rather have a proper left back if we are recruiting

Not him in particular, but someone in that mould.
