My own view is that away fans should boycott Rotherham games, but sadly few are probably that bothered.

For some people it might be the only game they can get to.

I've been thinking the same thing and it's a difficult decision. Even though I want to support the lads, the thought of paying £18/£20 for Rotherham to piss up the wall makes my blood boil. If we take 1000 with us they are going to be £15K at least in funds. And that £15K is about the amount the creditors will get at a 1p in the £.

Some of the money will be going to the DVS via rent, and the creditors are getting 5p in the pound - £75K. But yes it is going to help them out.

Re: League Division 2 = devalued L2. What a shambles!
One team to start on -30, another to start on -17 and yet another team yet to have their punishment decided upon, but which will probably be given -20 points.
What sort of message does this give to the rest of the division?
I'm sorry, folks, but our league has well and truly been devalued big time!
Is it not time for the League to alter the way they punish teams that go into administration time after time?
A straight demotion has to be the ultimate penalty. Otherwise, we will all end up being faced with what we as League two supporters will experience this coming season - a League with no real threat of relegation at all, a League that is totally devalued! That cannot be correct!
Is it any more devalued by the points deduction than it is by teams spending large amounts they do not have to achieve promotion? Then expecting Leniency from the FL and sympathy for their fans.

No, not at all. Like I said, the sanction should be even greater!

maybe imps should offer to give them 5p in the pound - or whatever % they are paying back their creditors - for the entrance ticket on saturday?

The Rotherham guy's comments beggar belief really.

I see Bournemouth are being allowed to pull the same "new co." con as Rotherham, again being allowed to exit a CVA without agreement with their creditors. No doubt they too will be in spend, spend, spend mode in pretty short order as well, chasing the dream in usual feckless fashion.
I pesonally find both these agreements highly distasteful.
skanky- 08-07-2008
To be fair to Bournemouth, their CVA only failed because of the League's football creditors rule which means the HMRC automatically vote against any CVA. It think that if such a rule was in place when we were in admin, we might not have been able to come out via CVA either.

It's expensive, the roof's not going to work and it's going to pee down all day. Rotherham should have been kicked out of the league and I feel that what they and the FL are doing is immoral and I don't want to collude with it. And we'll likely get beat.
Yes, I'm going.

£20 to get in to a League 2 ground does seem a bit steep. Probably because that is what Bradford charge away fans!
Phuctifhino- 08-09-2008
Stick it to em!
The fact is that many of these fans now calling for sympathy, would have been giving it big licks when the clubs were doing well and spending the dosh.
ANY club in the lower leagues who live beyond their means get what they deserve.
How would we feel if Luton, Bournmouth, or Rotherham had not been punished, then they get promoted ahead of us?
Screw em.
And the sooner Peterduller are in that partucular boat the better too.
