Macclesfield getting trounced too. Shouldn't think Big Keith will stand for much of that. Still I expect them to be there or thereabouts...

Obviously I want to win - but a defeat might give one or two folks the reality check that seems to be needed...
...reading some websites there seems to be a perception that PJ will merely call upon some higher strength and the team just has to turn up to feast itself on three points. And fish and bread if PJ wants to feed the 5000.
The sooner that notion is ripped to shreds the better in my opinion.
Mind you, we lost 3-1 at Newport County on the first day of the 1975-76 season, and look what happened then!

And we lost our first two games of the GMVC season...

Chester 6-0 down now.
Big Jack McGinley- 08-09-2008
Six now for Dagenham...
That's gotta suck to be beaten like that on the opening day of the season. Just as bas as getting tonked 4-0 at home I expect...

Yeah and who do we play next week?
Impsforever- 08-09-2008
Shouldn't be a problem with Beevers at CB and a make-shift LB. Oh, hang on a minute...

You can change the players, you can change the staff, you could throw millions and millions at it, you could transplant Barcalona to Sincil Bank, you could magically transport some of the worlds finest footballing talent from yesteryear and create an uber team, the minute they put on the Imps colours, everything they know is deleted from their brains.
In my opinion Rotherham should have been booted out the league.

I just spoke with Cheshire Imp who is also at the game. Bad defending - typical one over the top, just like last season! Midfield nowhere and Gall not done anything yet!
Cheshire must have had his eyes closed when he forced Warrington into tipping a shot wide after about 15 minutes. I thought Gall had a half decent game. Pacey, willing to chase balls (though he seemed to be doing some of Wright's running as well) and I think he might have a few goals under his belt by the time the loan expires.
Though he might have been one of the unfortunate ones who were still outside the ground trying to get in.
Talk about not having a clue. A nice long queue of Lincoln fans and they've only got 3 out of 10 turnstiles open. Then they run out of change meaning that if people wanted to get in they had to pay £20 to sit in the fine drizzle and exposed to the elements or wait for change to come round the ground.
The game itself. For me, one very poor side who had nothing to really offer bar a pacey winger (Reid, who terrorised Brown all game) and another poor side who just seemed to be lacking a little in the final third.
We should have scored twice before they scored through Gall and LJL and if we had, I think we would have ran away with it.
We didn't, they scored from a long ball over the top where Reid outpaced Brown, shrugged him off and finished it off. Bar long range efforts and the odd ball into the box, R'ham hadn't looked all that threatening.
Second half was all us. R'ham had one shot on goal right at the start of the half and then Burch had next to nothing to do for the rest of the game. Lots of time wasting from R'ham as well with Warrington doing it from about 5 minutes into the second half.
N'Guessean looked lively when he came on and gave their left back a torrid time until for some reason he switched wing. He impressed me today.
Just a shame that the ball never broke for us in the box as we more than deserved a draw from this game.
