I think the main problem with Gall and Wright is that neither of them show any willingness to head a ball. That means we need to keep the ball on the floor. Wright shouldn't have played today. He didn't look fit at all.

Brown beaten for pace I expect Jacko to sort 'em at half-time!! Actually, he was pushed off the ball too easily.

I was down low so it was hard to tell but I assumed that he had beaten Brown to the ball and then shrugged him off.

Well I didn't get a clear view either (moved at half time) but I thought it was 50/50 and Brown was too weak. Could be wrong though - don't know how anyone could claim that any official decision was wrong (both sets of fans) everyone was so far from the pitch. Awful venue, no organisation, not enough facilities for the number there, no atmosphere, two mediocre teams. The turnstile operators were probably on work to rule as they were on 5p in the pound. Oh yeah, and a rip off to get in as well. Anyway, to me the team looked like they needed more game stogether and a left back. I think we'll continue to see a slow start but there are some good signs there (esp. second half). Didn't think Wright had that bad a game, but think he needs some more time with Gall as they had little understanding. Graham should have scored from a long throw (missed Gall's chance). Oakes nearly scored with a cracking free kick. N'Guessen should have stayed on the right as we had some great chances down that wing. Otherwise agree with most of the above. As someone said, if we draw them at their place in the quarter final of the cup, and they can only play their under-15 team, I won't go there again.

I felt sorry for Wright, he didn't look 100% fit but he seemed isolated a lot of the time Nobody close enough in midfield to link with and nobody else with him on crosses for the defenders to worry about. It did get better as the game progressed but its never easy when you are chasing the game.

...reading some websites there seems to be a perception that PJ will merely call upon some higher strength and the team just has to turn up to feast itself on three points. And fish and bread if PJ wants to feed the 5000. I like the way you've parodied a certain other site's writing style here, BJM :D Onto the game - Oh dear. Poor ground (thank God the rain held off) and a poor game. I couldn't really tell you about our formation or tactics because a) my lad was bored and fidgety within a matter of minutes (and who could blame him?) and b) I really struggled to make out who players were (and I've got pretty decent eyesight). Having said that I thought Wright looked really poor today and wasn't much impressed with Kovacs or Brown either. Thought Gall looked alright - very quick.

Poor ground (thank God the rain held off) Going to be fun for the hams when the wind's N'ly and filled with sleet. ;)

Poor ground (thank God the rain held off) Going to be fun for the hams when the wind's N'ly and filled with sleet. ;) Piiissss poor ground and no organisation at all. The police would have been better expediting the turnstyles than having a pop at the youths behind us in the queue ( as that was quarter past three). The place is not a football ground and should never have been allowed to pose as one, it makes behind the goal at Cambridge seem near the pitch  and well over priced. As for the game, well we missed a bunch of it!!!! but what we saw was Brown being beaten far too easily, though Dany and Oakes did look to much improve the poor performance. We could still be playing now and would not have scored, mind Rotherham are piss poor and will struggle to make enough points unless they improve as well. I would rather suck eggs than ever go back there and would urge all other fans of all teams to give the place a miss as well.

I'm not saying it does, I was just pointing out that the youth (who from my recollection was being abusive and you could argue, to a degree threatening) wasn't really giving the police any other opition than having to take him to the side and having a quiet word. The police did ask for more turnstiles to be opened and they responded by opening one of the 7 that weren't being used at the time. Then the rest of the hold up was down to the change issue with people having to wait once they reached the front of the queue for their change if they didn't have the correct money available. I'm hoping that you viewed the incident in some aspects at least in the same way as I'm starting to believe that I've dreamt this whole thing up as I don't seem to be recalling the events in the same manner as a lot of people. I've got the men in white jackets on standby.
