target man after watching yesterdays 2nd half peformance,i can honestly say the defence/goalkeeping was as bad if not worse than last season!
and how many headers did target man wright win,not many from what i saw,i think lenel john-lewis would be a better target man to play up front as he won a big percentage of the headers yesterday!
with who i am not sure, gall runs round like a headless chicken but does put pressure on players, but how many times did he have the ball at his feet?!
i still think we are short of quality up front and if we was to play ljl up front i cannot see who would take up his wing roll.
expectation were high for me before the season started, yes i know there is plenty of time, but i feel very let down after yesterday!!!

Bang the ball to Wright for 90 minutes seems to be Jacko's plan. I agree with you on Gall, he didn't actually do anything.
Having someone with his pace is great but I don't want to see the ball whacked up front to him all the time.

We have DNG and LJL with pace, why not try one of them through the middle if we are going to persist with the long ball over the top?

It's all about pace now, isn't it. If a player runs and runs he receives the MOTM award
LJL hasn't looked comfortable down the middle, but he wins a lot of headers. I think he won't be any worse than Wright/Gall.

Gall ran and ran at Derby, but he was at least trying to close players down when doing it. We did not see much of that yesterday.

It's all very reminiscent of last season, with the ball frequently being pumped up to our smallest forward, who never stood a chance! (Forrester...)

Yep I think we should forget this notion of 'football' completely and sign up the GB Olympics sprint team when they get back. They are very fast indeed!

Its good to see normal service is resumed although ive only seen us at Derby and that was very entertaining!

Ben Wright is a tall striker and this seems to mean in most people's minds (LCFC management included) that he is a target man who can be used to punt long balls up to and he will nod them down for the headless chicken that is partnering him. This just is not true. BW is not a player who can play in a long ball system. He likes ball to feet. If the management and the team cannot play to his strengths, then he will struggle and it is not the team for him. The personal that Lincoln have now means that passing football is possible. Perhaps they should try it in a competitive game this season and not just the friendlies to see if it works.

Interesting that nobody seemed prepared to cut Steve Torpey this kind of slack. I'm not trying to defend Torpey who was poor - but the team did not play to his strengths either. The decision by too many was made that Torpey was to be a scapegoat and any attempt at reasoning why he was playing so poorly was dismissed.
Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather have Wright, but it seems another instance of double standards being applied to different players.
