The Olympics. Anyone else enjoying watching?
I must say what a great race the GB men's coxless four rowed today! And what about the girl from Mansfield, Rebecca Adlington? What a race she had!! The cycling is also fascinating. I like that Keirin race, with the little durney bike starting them off. Lots of medals to be won, for example the women's 3,000m final in the cycling is to be con-*test*-('")ed between two British girls! So another gold and another silver is guaranteed for the women's team! More rowing medals also predicted...

Im really enjoying the games... Think Team GB are doing really well, better than i think most people anticipated. The track & field should be good too.

Great day today. Adlingto and the Cyclists brilliant. What a race by the coxless four.

I have to admit the whole thing has passed me by... :?

I have to admit the whole thing has passed me by... :? Time difference or the new addition BJM? I've caught bits and pieces when I can. Always enjoy the Olympics, though I wouldn't really watch any of the sports at any other time.

Always enjoy the Olympics, though I wouldn't really watch any of the sports at any other time. Bit of both - and actually having a job now has taken up some time. In truth I'm not sure I'd have been watching a whole heap more even if I could have done. How are you managing to see any with your similar issues?

What a day it finally turned out to be! FOUR golds, one silver and four bronze! Stupendous, bring on Sunday!

In truth I'm not sure I'd have been watching a whole heap more even if I could have done. How are you managing to see any with your similar issues? Well, I did say 'bits and pieces'. I managed to watch the Mens 100m Final this afternoon, before going out for a walk with the pram for about 45 minutes - pointless, as she was screaming her lungs out by the time I stepped back through the door :? The Imps were 1-0 up when I left and 2-1 down when I got back in front of the computer. Not my best Saturday afternoon ever.

Four more golds and two silvers today, so far!!!

sammyimp- 08-17-2008

3rd in the medals table... cant believe it.... woohoo

In 1920, at the Antwerp Games, we won 16 golds - the most we have ever won at any games (finishing third overall). Can we beat that tally this year? Also at those games we collected 15 silver and 13 bronze for grand total of 44 medals. Not bad just two years after the Great War!
